We can make it true ~ Happy Halloween and Countdown to NaNoWriMo

Oct 31, 2008 23:30

So tonight was pretty awesome.

I somehow survived the worst of my midterms to make it to this crazy little holiday called Halloween (though, the grades haven't come out yet, so my worries have not quite dissipated). Cat and I decided to go to the Otakuthon anime convention Halloween party this year. We both got all dolled up as Nana and Hachi from Nana, got there an hour late, but still had a blast. Highlights included ten minutes of non-stop dancing to the Caramelldansen, watching some of the cosplayers engage in an anything-goes-real-life RPG, and my personal favourite part of the entire evening: successfully requesting for the DJ to play Arashi's We can make it! :D It was pretty funny, because about half the dance floor cleared out in a bout of confusion, and there were only a few small groups of people besides Cat and I who seemed to recognize the song (the two of us were in the middle of the dance floor, singing at the top of our lungs and dancing our hearts out, which felt amazing after all these days of being stuck at home or at school, cramming). That was my crazy moment for the day *nods*.

In other news not related to school or anything else depressing, NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) starts very, very soon (by which I mean ten minutes, or less by the time I finish writing this). It's a pretty exciting prospect to challenge writing a 50 000 story. I have a vague plot I'll be working with, and if it goes well, I'll look into having it posted over at the Tavern. It'll be something that I can pour my creativity into for the month of November. And even if I don't succeed, it can't do any harm to try.

Wow, I'm in a weirdly positive mood tonight. Must be the adrenaline.

Happy Halloween, all! Hope you all had as great a time tonight as I did <3
