i stayed up until 3 am refreshing california. at one point, when my eyes and my heart felt too heavy to stay awake, i went to bed, computer on and alarm set for 6 in the morning. and there it was, unchanging, hours later. 48% to 52%. i know, in time, we'll think, how blind we all were to deny gay marriage! how backwards and primitive! and i also know that connecticut fought the good fight, and kept the issue out of reexamination after our own supreme court ruling less than a month ago. but it hurts thinking about it, such a step backwards, and david and his tears. someone tell me to my face why i shouldn't be allowed to marry.
