Howdy

Rather a lot has happened since last I posted. So, a brief recap.

Trinity is good and I'm still there. Much studying, writing, and last minute panicking occurred, and on Monday I shall find out what I have to repeat besides Maths, which is a dead cert unless they lost the exam papers and have to give everyone a passing grade. I failed utterly to make friends in Trinity, not following the sterling advice the more sociable brother gave of going to everything and talking to everybody for the first few weeks. I am not despondent though, I know a number of people, just not fellow Trinners. I keep going to Fibbers and Dominion, horrified as both sets of cousins are that I go out to these places just off O'Connell St. I can see their point, D is below a total cokefest of a bar and Fibbers is not exactly the most salubrious of bars, but hey I enjoy them. I have a simply wonderful job in an off licence, where my scheduling is done by an overworked demon of Heck, so I'm off Tu, Th and Su.

I've moved out of my old place off Thomas St., and am currently living in my aunt's house in Clontarf. Nice not to be paying rent, not nice to not have my own place. Mick has gone off to Germany, and hopefully is having a great time. Tom drove him over, and I'm sure he was delighted with the opportunity to meet one of his best mates for the first time in ages.

I only got hunting properly on Tuesday, and overheard two Canadian guys in the internet café doing the same so went over and talked to them, swapped numbers on the theory that it's faster and easier the more money you have to give the landlord. We went off haring about today after reviewing daft. Dear baby Jebus it's insane. We saw a place advertised for €1,000, when we went to see it it was €1,100, we were willing to take it then and there, give him €1,300 as a booking deposit, and the rest tomorrow, we went off so the other prospects could see it, and the bastard never called to say we hadn't got it. The rest, fine, its a free market, he's out for himself, but that's rude. I said bye to the Canucks and went off to see a double room in Clontarf on my own account, met two nice guys, they said they'd give me a call if they decided to take me or not. I was really hoping I could get it right off if i just gave them the grand deposit and first months rent then and there but no dice. So, more house hunting.

Oh, and breaking up is hard to do. In the extreme.
