old videos
Today I have been transferring our old home videos from Beta to DVD. I have been watching parts of it, and I watched myself turn 2 and 3 years old. So cute. Also, I knew more Ukrainian at age 2 than I do now. One video showed my aunt asking me to point to different body parts as she said them in Ukrainian and I knew elbow in Ukrainian then, and I don't now! Okay, so in reality I probably have a better vocabulary now, but I did know words then that I dont today :)
Also, this is already general knowledge, but the 80s were a great time for fashion and hair... I think it multiplies in greatness when you see your parents and your friends' parents dressed in 80s clothes, with big hair, and huge glasses. Priceless.
I'm also transferring a couple of old movies we had recorded from TV onto Beta: Canterville Ghost and Boogedy Bride, both classic 80s movies that me and my sibs grew up on. And luckily we didn't fastforward the commercials because those are almost better than the movies themselves.
Next project will be to transfer VHS to DVD like the documentary I made in high school about New Trier's independent music scene (we actually had Joe Trohman(of Fall Out Boy) and his band lined up to interview but they backed out at last minute... that doc would have been worth millions if we had gotten that interview;)) and my debutante video, and the Jump Up! ska concert video I have.... I can't wait.
