my band drove down through richmond, chapel hill, atlanta, and ocean springs to new orleans. two nights ago we were trying to find a spot to park and the singer made an illegal turn in front of a cop car. yesterday morning, we all went to the courthouse together at 8 am to pay the $300 fine. walking back from a corner liquor store, our drummer pete walked right into a small pole and busted his head open. so we went home and cleaned it and bandaged it, and later that night had a house party at the house of the people we're staying with here. eli issacs came, who i haven't really talked to since 10th grade, and it turns out he's doing really awesome progressive stuff with his life and has a great girlfriend. i also met a neighbor of mine from brooklyn who invited me to his collection of trailers in his yard. this evening, we had a show where a couple other people i knew from RMO stuff were there miraculously. i hadn't really invited them directly, but was overjoyed to see them. hugh had moved to new orleans eight days ago and matt (now formerly) from pittsburgh has been living in NO for a while now. i feel like my family is all over the states.
