Powers:
His physical appears gives him the ability to fly and perch to ledges quite well. Brooklyn's claws are powerful enough to pierce through stone and even clutch into it if he needed to climb. With his slightly thin and muscular build it gives him the ability to fly faster than most gargoyles and to be able maneuver with great agility through obstacles.
When the sun rises however, where ever he is at, at the moment, he turns to stone. He stays like this until the sunsets. Once it does set, he breaks through his stone shell. It is depicted that the gargoyles rest during this time encased in stone. He awakens with a mighty yawn, looking rather rejuvenated.
Canon history:
Here AU history:
Brooklyn was hatched from a clutch of eggs near a sea cliff side of Middle Kingdoms. He became a part of the Wyvern Clan, in which Goliath lead. They were called the Wyvern clan due to the fact that the Castle they protected was called just that. They served Prince Malcom in protecting their castle. In return, the humans protected the gargoyles during the day time, when they were made of stone. During this time, Brooklyn worked hard along side his fellow gargoyles. Goliath soon appointed him as second in command, in case if something were to happen to the leader in which he was incapable of leading. Unfortunately, the clan was betrayed, and most of them were destroyed by humans. Luckily, some of them survived, along with Brooklyn. Goliath also remained, and still kept his position of leader. The small group of them reverted to stone by a spell.
Many years later, the castle was moved to the city of Manhattan in Evangeline, by a billionaire named Xantos, from the city of Manhattan in Evangeline. He heard of the tale of these strange creatures and decided to take it upon himself to awaken them. During the moving process, the spell was broken. Upon their awakening, they met with Xantos and met a detective named Elisa Maza. Elisa became their guide through out the city of Manhattan. The gargoyles took it upon themselves to protect this city just like they did for Castle Wyvern so many years ago.
Goliath took some excursions with Elisa and Bronx to Avalon, and it was up to Brooklyn to take up the reigns of leader. He didn't do too bad as leader, but many of his allies spoke of how Goliath used to lead, and it often wore down on the newly appointed leader. But he eventually shook it off and kept at it. Eventually, time passed and suddenly the Black Mist exploded on a global scale, and Brooklyn was taken away from his clan. When the mist receded, he returned to his clan, they were no where to be seen. He searched all over for them at Manhattan, but there was no evidence left behind as to where they were, or where they went. Devastated, Brooklyn felt as though he had nowhere to go in the world. That was until he got an invitation to the Disney Academy. He accepted it right away, knowing that Goliath, Bronx and Elisa took residence there already. Plus he wanted to find a way to get his clan back.
Since being at the academy, he took up the job of being a part of the security team. And since the mist has disappeared, he is high on alert, ready to help in any way possible. Even if the mist is gone, Brooklyn fears there might be something bigger on the horizon.
Personality:
Brooklyn is a loyal gargoyle who is there for his friends and allies whenever they need him. He is willing to put his life on the line for them when it's needed. Brooklyn is one of the few gargoyles who has a pretty good temperament, but when someone does irk him to far, he won't hesitate to intimidate. He is a positive individual when it comes to life, and often cracks jokes to pit a smile on someone's face. Brooklyn loves to explore and find out more about the human world around him. The gargoyle is often fascinated by human customs, cultures and strange devices, which shows he's open and willing to try out new things. This can also make him into a thrill seeker at times, and that can get him into trouble one way or another.
Underneath his outgoing self, there's a whole different story. He doesn't exactly have confidence in himself to become a leader like Goliath, who put him as second-in-command of their clan. In the past, he has also had some 'girl problems'. He doesn't quite know the difference between love and infatuation, and is usually left devastated in the end.
He is rather interested in meeting new people, and can make friends easily. If you do make enemies with him, he will be forever wary of you. He is uneasy when it comes to trusting people all over again, especially when people try to make amends again with him. And with his curiosity with the human world, and new things in general, he is willing to learn new things. He could possibly in interested in sitting in on a class or two, if a teacher doesn't mean a gargoyle sitting in the back of the classroom.
Greatest Fear:
His greatest fear is to be a failure at being a leader. He wants to be the best he can be, but there are limits that he does hit at some points. Brooklyn doesn't take into account that he does have limits, and often ignores them. And with his strong relationship with his clan, he is afraid of being alone.

♠ Writing
Third person writing sample:
It all came so fast to the group of gargoyles -- came without warning. The clan were caught off guard by the Mist as it took over Manhattan in a flash. When it did, Brooklyn clawed at the opposing force, trying to reach out to his brethren, even calling for them. Their cries were only lost in the Mist and Brooklyn was whisked away from them. Darkness invaded his sight and all went so quiet soon after. It happened all so quickly.
Brooklyn awoke to find himself in an alleyway of Manhattan. He took note of where he was before his eyes widened. Getting a running start, the gargoyle kicked off the ground and glided into the night sky, thanks to an updraft. He looked down and saw how the residents of the city seemed to be back to their normal routines, as if nothing had happened. Maybe it didn't affect them specifically? Who knew. Brooklyn shook the thought from his mind and glided as fast as the wind carry him through the sky and maneuvered expertly around skyscrapers and various buildings. He had to get to his clan. The red gargoyle had the duty of taking care of the other gargoyles of Manhattan; Goalith put that duty onto his shoulders.
His breathing grew faster with anticipation and his nostrils flared. He must have been quite a distance away from the clan's usual perch, but thankfully he approached the rooftop. His chest heaved with labored breaths and he tried his best to smile through it, looking around.
"Guys... don't worry, I'm here." he managed to pant out before he only got an eerie silence as response. Maybe they were hiding? Brooklyn pursed his lips together and walked around the rooftop, climbing certain walls with his claws to check on certain perches.
"Hudson?! Broadway?! ...Lexington?"
The fellow gargoyles were no were to be seen. That was before Brooklyn got the idea that maybe they were separated like he was! That had to be it. He took flight off the roof top, gliding, and went to search the city with what little time he had of night left.
Hours went buy, and the gargoyle looked everywhere. He even waited until the next night, to see if he could look in places that he wouldn't expect to see his clan members in. Brooklyn's hope was slowly diminishing as he found himself over looking the city for days, which eventually turned into weeks, and almost an entire month.
Brooklyn found himself at a loss. He perched up atop his clan's rooftop and stared up at the crescent moon, his elbows resting on his knees and his wings draped across his back, his small wing hands clasping just under his collarbone, like a makeshift cloak. What would Goliath say to him now? He had failed to protect the clan! He wasn't worth being a leader! Then why had Goliath assigned as one while he was away at this Academy?! It made the gargoyle feel frustrated and useless.
Brooklyn ran his claws through his white hair and soon buried his face into his hands as his shoulders slumped heavily. His ears caught sound of something fluttering near his head however and his hand reached out quickly to snatch it up. He opened his hand to look down and see an envelope... with his name on it?
The gargoyle used his claw as a letter opener and peeled the envelope open, taking out it's content. He unfolded the piece of paper and let his eyes wander over the lines of text. It was an invitation.
To the Disney Academy.

*The communicator flickers on and a large eye peers into the lens. It blinks a few times before it glances off screen. The eye pulls back to reveal a large red.. gargoyle. Whom of which was flicking off a stray piece of stone from his shoulder.*
I hope I'm working this thing right, but uh. Hey! How's it goin'? Name's Brooklyn, I'm the new guy on the security team. I hope I can be of some good use to you guys during my stay here.
And to let you all know, I'm not usually available during the day time. I'm often 'preoccupied' during that time. *which he rubs the back of his head awkwardly before smiling widely* Other than that, I'm here to help you guys out! I'm excited to be here and I hope we get along well, Disney Academy!
