Most kitchen things I have 4 of, but apparently some are missing, or got lost in some move, or I never had (perhaps they belonged to a roommate? no clue).
ANYWAY, stuff I need:
-Pot holders. The quilted fabric ones. Ours are ancient, stained, baby yellow items.
-Pillow cases. Somehow, in spite of having plenty of sheets, we have only 2 pillow cases, and 3 pillows. Very annoying.
-A small desk lamp or clip lamp for behind the couch (so you can read while sitting on the couch)
-Lemon juicer (reamer or press type)
-Knife sharpener
-tart pan (the kind with a removable bottom)
-A light for under the counter, over the sink. There is a plug right there, we just need a light, the kind that attached with screws, or something. Currently it is difficult to do dishes because you can't see the dirt on them :(
-LAUNDRY BASKET. The plastic kind. We have two, one broken out on the bottom, the other's handles are off. I had a very nice one in B'ham with a dent for my hip, but had to leave it, sigh. A backpack basket would also work for this, hmmmmm....
-Plastic cutting board. Dishwashable, knife-not-dulling, not the teeny thin mat things, got those.
-Square, covered basket for the paper recycle by the desk in the living room. We want a basket with a flip up lid, as it would look nice, and replace the old cardboard box.
-12 bladed apple corer/slicer.
-Little melamine prep bowls without stuff written in the bottom. I have a set of these, they are sort of like measuring cups, but a bit bigger? I LOVE them, but they have raised lettering in the bottom which make them hard to whisk in and difficult to clean too. BAH.
-BIG mixing bowls. Our largest one holds less than a gallon, and we can't make cake in it :( Any material is fine, just need to be dish-washable.
-Napkins
-Waffle iron
-Crock pot/slow cooker (big-ish please, I like to make vats of soup)
-Entry-way rugs/mats/shoe scrapper places. We have discovered that when you step on our linoleum just inside the door, with snow on your shoes, it is REALLY SLIPPERY. Need matt. Could use one outside too, might cut down on how much mud needs to be cleaned off the carpet :)
-Small birdfeeder? I am jealous of the neighbor's. I like birdies, and trying to remember all their names....
-Booze. believe it or not, there is NO BOOZE in our house. Sigh. Sign of how broke and anti-social we have been for the last few months?
"Big" things to look for second hand (new, these would cost too much, I'm looking for them for under $20. If your have an old one, I'll buy it from you!
-Microwave (ours blew up with a large BANG and some destruction of the wiring)
-Floor lamps (Gustav broke ours). Ideally one with a spot/light that points DOWN. We have high, dark ceilings, so torchier lamps are not as useful.
-TV that we can plug our DVD player into (ours has ONLY coaxial input, sigh). Or a converter box-thing.
