fine

As earthdotprime has been kind enough to point out, I lied when I said I would try to pay more attention to my dear journal. That, my friends, was a flat-out lie. We all know that when everything's fine, I got nothing to say, and when I'm angsty, then I fill the journal with angstangstangst. Boring Boring Boring.

As if we don't get enough of that from everywhere else.

New Plan:

I'm going to take my Martha Stuart/Suzy Homemaker/Excuse-To-Be-Anti-Social Tendencies to a whole new level.

I shall describe the deliciousness that I invent in the comfort of my cozy kitchen in this journal. Cuz really, that's one of my favorite activities these chilly winter days. that and watching the hell out of my movies from netflix. between the two, i don't need to leave the house except to mail the movies back, get more supplies, and work out so i can eat more.
Please note: Proportions, exact amounts and anything other than general ingredients do not concern me. Also, I tend to just pull things off the spice rack. And a lot of the bottles are unlabeled. Consider yourselves forewarned.

Thus, I commence.

Tonight's experiment was: ginger asparagus!!! thanks to recipezaar.com.

First, I brought water to a boil in a pan. Dropped in cleaned asp. and cooked until asp were bright green and crunchy. Drain and put asp immediately into ice water, to stop cooking. Dry pan, return to heat. Heat canola and sesame oil until shimmering, add fresh minced ginger, red pepper flakes, soy sauce and asp. Cook until asp is warm. Remove from heat- DO NOT OVERCOOK!!! i repeat, DO NOT OVERCOOK! OVERCOOKED ASP IS SO FUCKING GROSS! and toss on some sesame seeds. Eat! MM... delicious.

Oh man. That was fun. (earthdotprime- haha. You asked for updates. now you have to suffer! muhahahahaha!)
