People from very different worlds, with very different powers and very different points of view, are all put together in the same town and forced to live together.

Fair enough. You'd think they could drop the selfishness long enough to work together in a situation like this rather than fight over the pettiest things. But I guess that doesn't matter in a place where death is cheap.
