KARTE 004 || [ANONYMOUS TEXT]

[The Doctor is extremely shaken up by a certain someone's arrival, though he'd never admit it.]

[An anonymous text is sent to each Guide.]

What is worse, Thor?

A wicked man who pretends to be kind to get what he wants?

Or a virtuous man who does cruel things out of necessity?

I'm looking for the answer.

The first.

But why? What if he works miracles?

He would still be a lie to himself and to those he interacts with.

But what if the second man is a murderer?

You said he does it out of necessity. Aren't those who execute criminals not murderers?

You mistake the second man. It wasn't execution. It was euthanasia.

...if that is the case, then the second man is no better than the first

The killing of those who need atonement, not death, is somehow better than the peaceful passing of those who do not deserve to suffer?

I would have reconsidered my statement had I known we were discussing human life

It does not matter. Initially, you believed an executioner to be of less blame than the first man. Now, the tables have turned. So though the second man means well, you will define him based on a label?

That was because the executioner, though full knowing what he is doing, usually has no choice in the matter of his work, which benefits the many. One who lies about kindness is in full control of his actions and does them willingly for his own benefit alone. You added another factor into this, one that I personally am against.

Huh. Good for you, then. So you'll change your mind so quickly based solely on a stereotype?

Stereotyping has nothing to do with it.

It doesn't? Tell me why. What do you think so euthanasia?

Because an executioner is killing someone who is beyond atonement, someone who has no chance of fixing themselves... therefore, he has not committed a terrible act, but has actually in fact done the community, the world a favor though it may seem cruel, terrible, and inhuman. A euthanizer is someone who gives into a person's begging to end their suffering, pain, and torment, but by euthanizing a person, you are taking all chance of hope from them. He is giving people the peace which they yearn for, but yet he is depriving them or a possible chance for a better or longer life.

People choose how they live. Shouldn't they be allowed the right to choose how they die? If they are incurable, than what is the point of allowing them to live? If they are contagious, why not end their suffering and prevent any more deaths? If they have nothing to live for, what is the purpose of enduring any more agony?
Sometimes a life devoid of meaning and dignity is far, far worse than death.

[Props to you]
