Just out of curiosity, are you afraid of death? Why or why not?

That's a weird question.

After discovering our lives are in the hands (paws?) of mice, I felt the need to be philosophical and assert my place as a being capable of deep, meaningful thoughts.

That, and we ran out of flour, so I couldn't bake anything.

I think I'm doing just fine without the deep, meaningful thoughts, thanks.

You really feel better thinking about death? [Yuri - so not Goth]

It doesn't make me feel better, per say, but it does put things in perspective for me.

You really thought being here was that bad?

That's not it either.

Maaa, maybe I should reword my question a bit... Do you believe someone can be alive, but dead at the same time?

What do you mean?

html failure? what html failure? >_> mirrored_seal August 12 2010, 06:04:04 UTC
Definitely should have reworded it. Oops. :(

Basically, how do you define a person as living? How do you define a person as dead?

it's fine! vesperiaftw August 12 2010, 06:10:22 UTC
I never thought about it much. It's usually pretty easy to tell when someone's dead, though.

Is it? Then when is a person dead?

You know - their heart stops, they stop breathing? That kind of thing.

... I believe people die two deaths. One, when their physical body dies. The other, when they're forgotten by the world.

But if no one remembers them in the first place, haven't they already died?

You really think about some depressing things, you know that?

[well, I did have the incarnation of Death sealed in me for 10 years...]

What, can't you see it as anything good? People are remembered by their actions, after all~
