This has been such an odd, and inconvenient week. I'd rather never have to show up to work in a towel ever again. As for what's going on now, I believe calling it unsettling would be an understatement

I am devoid of a sense of smell and Yoruichi-san seems to be unable to feel anything, but otherwise we're managing. She would write to you herself to tell you, but she's not able to type without breaking anything at the moment.

Ah, I'm sure I'll be fine...it's not that far away from here to the room, after all. As long as I'm quite careful I thi--

[then, suddenly, there are nothing but rapid blurs in the feed for a moment, before there's a loud clatter seconds later, with the Guide hitting the floor]
[and you get a lovely view of ceiling and...not much else]

[There's a bit of...bemused muttering in the background for a few moments. Some shadows play across the lighting on the feed.]
[Then a hand grasps the edge of the Guide, fumbling a few times as if unsure of its grip, before pulling it back upright and off the floor...and there's Ukitake again, now smiling quite sheepishly.]
Ah...? Oh, no, that's - not going to be necessary, I don't think. Only two halls away from the room, after all.
[visibly glances back]
...I - hm...I think I fell down a set of stairs just now...
[He's only holding the Guide with one hand, and...hm~? Isn't he holding that other arm just a bit oddly?]
Re: [Papyrus filter video]ocean_lightningMay 31 2010, 00:32:26 UTC
[Lol that'd...proooobably be in due order, yes. /o/]
[Blinks back at you, slightly nonplussed.]
My arm...?
[Glances to the side]
[...Oh. Oh dear. That angle doesn't look good in the least.]
Now that you mention it...I don't believe so, no.
[Pauses, then fists the hand on the defective arm and tries to raise it. He manages to get it about halfway up before he stops abruptly, expression on his face...not necessarily pained, but decidedly alarmed.]

I...do believe that might be a good course of action, yes.
[small sigh himself]
[Carefully lowers his arm into a hanging postion again, visibly quite unnerved, as much as he's trying to hide it.]
[at the inquiry, he laughs sheepishly]
Well, I just...completely missed those stairs, I suppose. Too distracted speaking with you, and with everything else in general, probably. I didn't even notice I'd stepped off of solid floor until I was - well, falling.
[aksdkdfj gdit it was a tall staircase 8|']
[Although, it'll probably be quite easy to find him, seeing as he's really not that far away from the room at all, and his reiatsu is currently circling around partly unrestrained. Feels like a rising tide slowly creeping its way to shore - serene, but powerful. /o/]
Are you able to lip read?

It - hit me just a few minutes ago, actually. But...I can't feel a thing. It's so strange...
[frowns offscreen at something bemusedly]
I'm trying to make my way back to the room now, as we speak. Will this be alright, or would you rather I kept a distance for now...?

Well - I suppose that's true. Although, I'm just concerned that my presence might make things worse...I have no idea where my reiatsu is right now.
Just a fair warning.

Are you alright, otherwise?

I think I can help out there, or at least get you to someone with more practice knitting broken bones than I have.
How on earth did you manage to fall quite so spectacularly?
[He's on his way now, because he happens to think that you're a liability on the stairs.]

[And he's moving along, focusing on his reiatsu until he rounds a corner and lo! Ukitake.]
Any other injuries?

[Turns in surprise as Kisuke rounds the corner.]
--Ah. None that I'm aware of, no...
[Smiles faintly, and treads his way over towards you, tucking his Guide securely under his working arm]
[There's a tangible caution to his movements, even - each step is almost ginger.]
Although, then again, my word probably isn't the best one at present...
