[A few minutes later Howl finds himself approaching the Dolphin Pool, feeling very much as if he's walking straight to a prearragned death]
[Which could very well be the case.]
[But NO HE'S NOT THINKING ABOUT THAT RIGHT NOW COS IF HE DOES HE KNOWS HE'LL TURN AROUND AND HEEL IT RIGHT BACK OUT]
[Which would make things exponentially worse.]
[So instead he makes his way forward at an even pace, brightly-patterned coat swirling about him, blond hair (recently restored) easy to spot from a distance.]
[And his facial expression is completely impassive, despite every notion in his mind screaming at him to quit being stupid and retreat for safer haunts this instant while he still can --]

[ALAS, IT IS VERY TEMPTING 8|]
[And he spots her as well, soon enough. Eventually, he comes to a halt about five feet away - getting any closer didn't seem like a very good idea in the least, after all. Heavens only knew how fast the woman could move...]
[Still, despite a quailing in the immediate chest area where his heart previously held residence, he manages to summon forth a relatively mild, pleasant smile. One that doesn't reach his eyes at all.]
[His tones are almost cheerful, conversational. But, still, not nearly enough to be convincing.]

[Quite fast indeed /o/]
[He almost involuntarily takes a step back as she slinks up, but stops himself just in time. Instead his smile just...falters very slightly, at the sudden proximity.]
[One hand habitually slips up to adjust his coat's collar - a clear sign of his current discomfort, for those that know him well enough.]
Well, it's difficult to imagine how one might forget, if you wouldn't mind me saying...

[reaches out and drapes an arm around his shoulders]
Oh, love, I hope you aren't scared of me, are you? And to come to the point, I was not pleased by that little trick Break played on me and your role in the entire affair. Break is gone, unfortunately, he was so entertaining, but you are still here~

[FFFFFFFF THAT’S SO UNCOMFORTABLE HE DOESN’T EVEN - hnnnnnng]
[Immediately stiffens a tad. Really, it’s one thing when a pretty lady waltzes up and spreads affection - that isn’t too bad, after all, and all the luckier still - but it was another thing entirely when the lady was a goddess that had hardly sounded friendly mere minutes ago, and was well-known for her wrath.]
[But trying to pull away almost certainly guaranteed suicide, likely of the most unpleasant sort. And Howl wasn’t a fan of suicide nor unpleasant things, much less both in fusion.]
[Noticeably, Howl might feel quite cold to the touch, if she can actually make any skin contact around all those layers of clothing /o/ Colder than any healthy person ought to be.]
...Yes, Mr. Break is indeed no longer present here.
[The statement gives him a slight internal pause...almost a pang?]
But to be frank, madam, I don’t see how I might serve as an adequate replacement in that man’s absence. I wanted nothing to do with the whole matter from the very beginning, I’ll have you

[you can almost audibly hear the moment's pause]
...Unlike the ones we've had in the past, I take it?

Your assumption is correct, Mr. Pendragon.

Well, have at it, then. This has been stretching out long enough, really.

I see you're looking well today, madam.

[She is quite quick, you should know]
[and smiles at him, noticing he is rather nervous around her. I wonder why.]
Why, thank you~ You of course recall why we need to chat, do you not?
