Apps posted on this page after the last November 2010 app round will not be accepted, but we're keeping the page here so that potential new members will have example apps to look at.
Kuwabara manages to make telepathic contact with Yukina and tells her they're coming to her rescue, to which she tells them to bugger off and go back. There's a Reason in Her Past for this as a man once was killed for attempting to help her and she doesn't want to see that again, but that's not revealed until Yusuke and Kuwabara are fighting the Toguros, who are their last obstacle (bets are placed on this, too, for a lot of money. Sakyo still bets on Yusuke et al while the other members just observe). The older Toguro turns into a sword and the younger Toguro bulks up (he counts the amount of power he uses by percentage), understandably Yusuke tells Botan to get the hell out of the way. It doesn't seem they can beat Toguro, although a last ditch effort of TEAMWORK by Yusuke and Kuwabara causes Kuwabara to stab Toguro through the gut and he falls over.
In the meantime, Hiei busts into the room and takes down the guards, almost killing the businessman as well until Yukina begs him not to do it. He relents and tells Yukina that he's just with Yusuke and the others, to which she responds by running down to meet with the group as Kuwabara got injured and she is also a white mage has the ability to heal. Kurama…is there now and comments that it's funny that Hiei showed mercy. Meanwhile Botan and Yusuke decide to leave Kuwabara and Yukina alone and meet with Kurama and Hiei.
It's a happy ending, isn't it?
No, not at all. The Toguros were faking it and were actually working for the strangely omnipotent Sakyo the entire time. They're all interested in the upcoming Dark Tournament and having Yusuke participate in it. THAT is where we're moving on to. Yukina goes back to where she came from, throwing Kuwabara into a depression (which Botan calls "romantic" as it's a long-distance relationship) and Botan accompanies Yusuke for a bit before slapping him on the back and leaving him with Keiko. Back in Spirit World all seems fine…until they realize that they left the tape running and see a recording of the Toguros getting up again and talking to Sakyo, much to their collective horror. Changing it up a little, the message for a new adventure doesn't come in official form, but in the form of Toguro showing up and telling Yusuke to bring four other fights with him and participate in the Dark Tournament in two months or else he'll kill everyone he cares about. Hiei and Kurama are…there, watching for no reason, therefore they're on Yusuke's team too. Kuwabara finds out because he followed Yusuke and witnesses the entire thing as well. Kuwabara, Kurama and Hiei go off to train with each other while Yusuke trains with Genkai. Two months pass and they're off to Hanging Neck Island on a boat, Yusuke is accompanied by a very very Genaki-sized and dressed, HELLO person whose face is wrapped up in bandages. Though Yusuke is so tired he sleeps the entire time despite the battle royale that happens between his team and the demons. Meanwhile, Keiko (who doesn't even know what's going on with the spirit detective thing and was told by Botan it's an internship at a detective agency) and Shizuru are interrogating Botan about where Kuwabara and Yusuke went.
Left with no choice, she blabs out the entire thing about the Dark Tournament, which understandably leaves them shocked. But they then decide to go to Hanging Neck Island themselves to witness the tournament. (Botan [who is wearing a really dressy kimono for got knows why], Shizuru and Keiko then meet up with Koenma, who has taken on a teenager form out of his own sense of insecurity, and his ogre assistant while they're all trying to get inside the stadium.) So then Yusuke (STILL sleeping) and company settle into their hotel room and meet the first team they'll be fighting against by way of the other team doing that obligatory intimidation thing. The next day, Yusuke still hasn't woken up and the first match they're participating in begins with…Kuwabara losing horribly against the little kid of the team.
