Aaaand he beats him. Except it seems like Yusuke's died again, booo. Luckily, Kuwabara et al show up and Kuwabara starts infusing him with his spirit energy to revive him. Everything's just fine again and everyone goes back to their regular routine again.

No, it's not, it's New Arc Time (which will lead us to the Dark Tournament, really). Hiei delivers a tape to Yusuke and buggers off immediately. Yusuke goes over to Kuwabara's house with Botan to view the tape and the next mission is laid out to them by Koenma (with Shizuru watching as though the tape is encrypted to appear as static to someone without a sixth sense, the tingly feeling runs in the Kuwabara family apparently). An ice apparition named Yukina is being held captive by a corrupt human business man for one reason: her tears produce precious jewels that can sell for a bundle. Yusuke's mission is the rescue Yukina by any means necessary. Kuwabara, upon seeing Yukina's image, immediately falls for her and runs off to rescue her himself after getting money from Shizuru (who flippantly tells them she saw the whole thing, no need to pretend. And she says Kuwabara will be back as soon as he realizes he doesn't know the way.) Unfortunately he missed out on the final detail that Yukina is Hiei's sister. It worries Koenma that Hiei might find out because then he might go and kill the humans that are keeping her imprisoned. Regardless of what the humans are like, a demon killing a human is forbidden. Kurama (god knows why he's there) tells him not to worry but--oops, Hiei has found out and he's already on the way to rescue Yukina, flashbacking as he goes.

The human businessman that's holding Yukina captive is the founder of something called the Black Book club, made up of corrupt humans that are in contact with demons and use them for gambling purposes. He's hired the Toguro brothers to…make Yukina cry. Yes. She's been there for such a while she's desensitized to pain, but the older Toguro killing her bird friends, which does exactly as they wanted and makes her cry. The Toguros (namely, the younger [and bigger] one) show off their powers some more and the businessman, excited by this, calls the Black Book Club to make some profit. Meanwhile, our intrepid heroes (and Botan too, god knows why she's there) are making their way through the forest, beating down the demon guards sent by Toguro. Eventually the club starts placing bets on whether or not they'll make it through to the stronghold itself. Everyone bets on the demons winning, but oddly enough the youngest member, Sakyo, bets on Yusuke's team making it through. This comes as a shock, but he PREDICTED THE FUTURE or something because they made it to the inside. The businessman isn't done yet, though, he's got a triad of high-powered demons waiting for them. Yet again, all bets are placed on the first member of the demon triad winning except for Sakyo. Aaand…Yusuke flattens the first one. But not without Kuwabara objecting to fighting her because she's a girl and them realizing she's actually a cross dresser.

This repeats into infinity (the only changeup being the last one taking Botan as a hostage, until Yusuke tells her to lift up her arms so she'll slip out of her jacket and free herself and there being another check on Hiei's progress, except they're moving Yukina now) and Sakyo is making quite a nice sum of money from betting on Yusuke's team, which arouses the worry and suspicion of the businessman (though greed makes him continue on with it, as you do.)
