The Tale of Zuko ☄ Book 01; Chapter 02 ☄ Video
[ The Guide is nestled somewhere on the bed, far away enough to get a head-to-knees view of Zuko, who's slowly pacing in his room. He's apparently talking to himself, giving himself advice with the imitated voice of an old man. ]
"Life is like a banana. You start out green and get soft and mushy with age. Some people want to be one of the bunch while others want to be top banana. You have to take care not to slip on externals. And, finally, you you have to strip off the outer coating to get at the meat."
[ He pauses and hangs his head for a moment, arms dangling lifelessly. Then he groans and spins around and continues his pacing. ]
That didn't even make any sense! I mean, who wants to imagine being a banana anyway? Who wants to get soft and mushy with age? Then you just get bruised and people throw you out! Stupid! And besides, bananas aren't even made of meat!
[ He throws his hands up in the air and tries again. ]
Okay, maybe he'd say something like... "Life is like eating grapefruit. First you have to break through the skin; then it takes a couple of bites to get used to the taste, and just as you begin to enjoy it, it squirts you in the eye."
[ He groans again and sits on the bed. The shift in weight makes the Guide fall facedown. ]
Don't I know it. That's exactly what life is like. [...] Wait, Uncle wouldn't say that. It made too much sense.
