Well, if one was the protector the world and by mistake failed in their task-they'd be quite pitiful but not exactly accountable. But if one were to accidentally, for example, create a super weapon which they dropped and destroyed the planet...then they'd be both pitiful and accountable. You see?

Regardless of all that, the point is that 'blame' and 'responsibility' lie in the hearts of people, and aren't things that can be decided once and for all. Even if your actions caused it, and even if it was an accident, all you can do is move forward, until your heart is cleansed.

[And sensing Ash ain't exactly a big brain, dumbed downed version.]

In other words, the past is the past. So long as you're alive, you can move to the future.
