[ Shiro still doesn't know what to think of his job this month--it seemed more fitting for entertainment rather than scientific research, and he wasn't interested in either of those things. For the sake of some monetary gain, he'd trudge along through learning his lines. He's well prepared for his debut; sporting fashionable safety goggles, a laboratory coat and a pair of thick gloves, streaming live to a Guide near you! ]
Does It Blend? That is the question!
[ Shiro stands behind a counter-top, an ordinary kitchen-variety blender proudly set out on display before him. He holds up a Guide: not his own, of course, but a standard issue Guide. ]
These Guides are absolutely remarkable developments of technology! Just one Guide on its own is capable of containing every written work ever published, allowing communication between vast amounts of living beings, and access to information by merely pressing a few buttons! Yet one question remains... does it blend?!
[ Well, shoot. It won't quite fit into the pitcher of this blender. Shiro proceeds to make the motions of breaking the Guide over his knee, but pauses to add in: ]
Oh, right! Don't try this at home!
[ aaand CRACK, he manages to snap the Guide into two, cramming the pieces into the blender. He places the lid on the blender, and moves to select any ol' blending mode. ]
I think I'm going to press the 'PANIC' button.
[ Let the blending begin! What follows is a horrible grinding sound of electronic parts being torn into dust, a few parts occasionally ricochet out from beneath the lid. Shiro looks up to the camera and smiles while the timer counts down, and once the blender shuts off he removes the pitcher, opening the lid. ]
Whew, that's one smokin' Guide! Don't breathe this!
[ He dumps the Guide onto the counter top, now reduced to a fine, smoldering ash. ]
