[It's a pony. Deal with it.]

Well, I don' know anythin' 'bout no wars 'round these parts, but that's a yes on that second question of yers sugarcube. What makes you think folks wouldn't want to get along?

[ A pony-what. WHAT ARE YOU MIXED WITH, STRANGE PONY CREATURE? And wow, are you from the Swamp or something, pony girl?! He keeps a mostly... polite... expression on his face. What the heck a pony-something is speaking to him. ]

[ NO, ZUKO IS NOT FAMILIAR WITH BOSCO THE BEAR. You shut up about growing apples in the swamp. AND THE FIRE NATION IS NOT WEIRD. ]

It's more complicated than "hanging out for selfish reasons." You've at least heard of people hungry for power, right?

[It's a legitimate concern. Apples are srs bsn. AND COMPARED TO A TOWN OF TALKING PONIES THAT SPEND THEIR WEEKS LEARNING ABOUT FRIENDSHIP, YES, THE FIRE NATION IS WIERD.]

I've heard of hungry fer knowledge, but other than some old pony tales, not so much on the power thing.

Good. Too much power is never a good thing. It's hard to avoid the issue entirely, though, because without some power, you're a sitting duck and easily taken advantage of.
