[Yes, yes it is, and there's a wrapped package in Minato's hands as he sneaks back into the living room with his son.
They'd already gone over all of the things left behind since Naruto's arrival, the pictures, the clothes, the knickknacks his son had collected before. But this... this was something new that Naruto didn't know about yet.]
I doubt there's anyone on the ship who didn't hear that.
[Sorry Mikoto, our apartment is even louder than it was before.]

[He just laughs, taking a seat on the floor in front of the couch and handing the package over.
For all his talents gift wrapping isn't exactly his strong suit. But it's orange!]
Happy Birthday, Naruto.
[Inside? A smallcloak similar to his, minus the high collar and plus orange flames. Instead of writing down the back there's a large swirl, the symbol of the Uzumaki clan.
It's probably a little big now, loose, but Minato figured that would be better. Naruto would grow into it.]
[Even better than the at least 100 bowls of ramen you got earlier?
Still think you're too young for his kunai though kiddo :c maybe next year.]
Glad you like it. I thought you should have something of your clan aside from the standard uniforms.
[Did he sew it himself? Maybe. Which means there's probably a Hiraishin seal hidden in it somewhere. The Kyuubi talk hasn't happened yet and it's the best way he can keep an eye on his son without touching the seal.]

[That just isnt a fair question. Gonna hope over to a mirror to check himself out. With all the growing room, he thinks it's a perfect fit. A perfect way to keep track of him (besides sealing all of his clothes).]
It's just like yours! And it's got Mom's swirl on it and everything!

It's your swirl too, you know.
[But he's glad Naruto likes it, coming up with a gift for a young son he barely knew hadn't been easy. And the clothes and things they had picked up before --since... nothing left behind would have fit-- were more necessity than gift.]
[Shopping for clothes certainly had been an experience, and he was sure to insist on at least one size too large in everything. And for it to consist of his favorite colors.]
Hey, isn't it yours also? You're part of the clan to!

[And there is Naruto flopped on the couch, tongue sticking out as he poking at the keys of his guide, figuring out how to respond to texts.]

What is it?
[He doesn't wait for the answer before starting to tear at the wrapping]

Ah, I suppose it is. Maybe I should get a cloak made with a swirl too?

[Because there is no doubt in his mind that she'll be coming back.]

[would probably look funny over her mom moo-moo too.]
I bet she'd like one, though. She was the one to make mine after all.

[Perhaps some sort of cape/kimono jacket thing would be better, then.]
She did? Awesome! Whenever I sew something, I always prick myself!
