[Kyoya is sat in his assigned "room" within 3-23, looking...well, it's hard to tell with the glare of the Guide's screen reflecting off his glasses but perhaps that's just as well. When he speaks, his tone is lacking in anything resembling a form of emotion but there's a definite sting in that iciness. He also seems to be speaking more to himself ( Read more... )

[Kyouya? It's really Kyouya? He's back? This is... awful timing. He wants to be enthusiastic about seeing Kyouya again. He wants to welcome him and perhaps even provide a tour for him, but he hurts. Kaoru will do what he does best -- hide, and in this case, behind text so that Kyouya doesn't see how terrible he looks.]

Welcome to Thor, Kyouya-senpai~! ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ☆

[Yeah that is all he will say. No need to bring up the obvious of what Kyouya's already mentioned.]

[Welcome to Thor? Text makes it difficult to infer tone but that wasn't exactly the reaction Kyoya was expecting. Which, in its way, speaks well for Kaoru even as Kyoya doesn't exactly enjoy not being able to read a situation]

That's really all you have to say? Don't you consider the situation we find ourselves in to be a little unusual, even by our standards?

[Although...there are other things that don't quite add up. Like the fact that Kaoru and Renge have rooms within the Suites and even Haruhi appears to be living a rank above him right now]

Well, no, not anymore. You get used to it after being here for two years. σ(´o`〃)

[Two years? But how is that possible when their world's only just been destroyed and Karou's been around the whole time, at least as far as Kyoya can tell. And he can't even blame twin-switching because so has Hikaru...and now he's nowhere to be found and neither is Tamaki...]

I see. You've obviously gone to a lot of trouble in this endeavour to get one over on me. I'll admit, for a moment there you almost had me...but of course, something this ridiculous couldn't possibly be true. Let me guess, the others were left off the rooming lists to throw me off guard?

It's not what you think, Kyouya-senpai.

We were brought here from different points and times from home. And Hikaru has been here twice before. The first time he was brought from a about year before my time. The second time, he was from just a few months before.

I was wormholed once this summer, and when I was returned, I came back 2 years older. If you don't believe me--

Just take a look at me.

[Other than the fact that he looked exhausted and like shit, he is about two years older, longer hair, slightly taller.]

[So far, still not convincing Kyoya that this isn't a set-up. There are a lot of infeasible statements that would be a tough sell individually never mind in one go...]

[Woah, okay yes Kaoru is looking rather different to the last time Kyoya saw him. The twins have always been good at this sort of thing but they've never been this good. Which...wait, did that technically make Kaoru older than him?

Text is all you're getting, Kaoru. Because Kyoya's not sure how well he can poker-face right now]

Very well, you've made your point. And what of Haruhi and Miss Renge? Would I be correct in considering that they, like you, have been here for some time?

[Because weird as it sounds, there's a warped logic to it]

Haruhi has been here for as long as I have. In fact, when I first arrived on Thor almost exactly two years ago, she was here, and yet I was older than her because we're from different times from home.

Renge has been here for over a year. She and Haruhi are from around the same time from home. I'm not quite sure what you last remember from home, however, but it's apparent that I'm from your future... or you're from my past... You know what I mean.

She has? Well, that's intriguing...although not entirely surprising.

Last I remember, we were planning towards the school festival. Well, I was planning towards the school festival; Tamaki as usual was apparently banking on a successful venture by luck alone.

[And it would probably have worked, which was the most frustrating part of it all. Although how much was luck and how much was a lack of awareness over Kyoya's actions in the background was questionable]

They both have been doing so well. Even Renge has been maturing at a surprising rate... surprising in a sense that I didn't know she had it in her. It's really beautiful.

[Ah, that did not surprise him. He was used to being the only one from the "future," or whatever it should be called. Still, it was always weird.]

I see.

Well I'm sure I'll learn that for myself soon enough. Still, an intriguing choice of word there, Kaoru.

[He could have taken that sentence as it stood but the "beautiful" stands out a mile.]

Still, allow me to ensure I have this understood. It is entirely possible, based on what you have told me, that the others - those who are not currently here - may still be perfectly all right?

It's possible. For them, the world is continuing to go on as normal. For those of us who end up here, the world was destroyed. It's as though there was a glitch in the system of the world, so to speak. So yes, they should be fine.

[Even though that doesn't make him feel better at all about Hikaru being gone from here. He knows that he's selfish with how he wants Hikaru to be here with him all the time.]

Hmm. Well that's something, at least.

[It doesn't exactly make Kyoya feel much better about Tamaki not being there either but if he can rationalise that the idiot is still alive and kicking somewhere then he can at least put that aside for the time being]
