Some refugees have expressed valid concerns with regards to the Purist presence in the on-ship media. With that in mind: would there be interest in producing something on our own, something for refugees, by refugees?

I'd say it's about time we made our own statements.

How much would a project like that cost?

For the refugees? Nothing but the time they put into it.

[aka hello I am footing this bill]

Time is a very valuable thing, though!

But I guess it's better than something costing both time AND money.

The worst that can happen is we put a lot of effort into something that never gets aired.

Pooh, that would be such a waste! There must be some way we can make sure it gets aired!

Thankfully, the nature of the network helps in that aspect.

We're distributing it straight over the Guides? We'll have to be mega-careful about the content, then, or else it could be screened out by filter plug-ins!

It depends on the medium, I'd say; if it's video, the Guide might be the most accessible.

Would you have suggestions for sidestepping the filter issue?

No idea, other than making sure we keep it clean, unless we totally WANT to earn that mature rating. And praying that there's no Purists working behind the scenes, since they could tinker with the filters to screen out pro-refugee content for the majority of users.

But I don't know any surefire way around the filters. You might want to talk to a tech wizard, not a mega-magic wizard like me!

I'm more concerned about it coming across as an attempt to rally the troops, honestly.

Very true; I'll have to ask around. [unless of course there's a techie she could point him to... B)a always good to have contacts!]

How do you figure? I mean, as long as we don't air anything mega-radical like "why we should kill all Purists" or "twelve steps to refugee domination of the ship", we should be in the clear, right?

I'll keep my eyes peeled for tech geeks, too.

We should be theoretically, but there are ways to frame anything to make it look like an attack.

I'd appreciate it.
