[A princess shouldn’t be one to fumble, but when given a piece of clearly advanced technology like this, hopefully some forgiveness can be granted. Ashe has found a button that at least makes the Guide work, but small accomplishments doesn’t exactly put her in higher spirits. Setting the Guide down against her towel, Ashe goes about checking

He misses the feed at first, only hearing the rustling of objects being moved, a heady sigh, and then--]

But it's Ashe. Princess Ashelia B'nargin Dalmasca-- no, Queen, if only Ivalice hadn't been taken from them at their moment.
He closes his eyes, taking in the situation for just a moment before flipping the Guide on.]

[He keeps his tone steady, his gaze fixed on the young liege of Dalmasca.]
I would be at ease, knowing where you were.

Basch.
[A smile? Almost. Her heart is set at some ease, and her expression reflects that. She wasn't alone.]
I am but a corridor away from the concourse. I thought to retreat somewhere more quiet for the time. [She needed to think and screaming little kids and pushy Vogons do not make a suitable environment in the slightest.]

...Of course he wouldn't be mentioned.
Relived that she made it safely off the ship, (well, Why wouldn't she? Her knight was with her) he had to fight the kneejerk reaction to respond immediately to her majesty's call, even if he had no information, and was just as lost as she was.
He manage to squash that urge, for the moment. After the stunt he pulled aboard the Shiva-- He'd be surprised if her Majesty wishes to call upon him in the future. He will observe, for now, and get his bearings. after that--
... After that... he shall report in for duty, and face the consequences of his actions with his head held high.]

[ Ashe was one of the last people Larsa ever expected to see. He hoped she would find her way to the Thor someday and it relieves him more than he thought it would to see her alive and well. ]
Basch and Balthier are here. Penelo was once here as well, though... it seems she has recently left.
[ Does he mention that all the people from Archadia are present as well? Nope. She'll probably find out on her own anyway. ]
Though I know it is difficult to believe, they say there are ways of restoring our world, so all hope is not lost. Some even say that the worlds they claim destroyed still exist out there somewhere.
So do not give up hope....

[It is much better to see Larsa instead of the other Solidor, but the presence of the young lord was questionable. He wasn't in Giruvegan like Basch was, and Ashe had been skeptical of the Vogon's story so far.]
My apologies, I did not expect to hear from you. I have had response from Basch, but I did not know of Balthier's presence here as well. [Always the fashionably late one, isn't he?] Thank you for letting me know.
[And that next part, it lends support to what she had been fearing was fact.] So there is some truth to their story? We are truly no longer on Ivalice?

I should note that just because the others are not here does not mean they will not come. They may be on another ship even. But I promise you, it is possible for them to arrive despite Ivalice being no more.
No. There is more than 'some' truth to their story. We are on the Thor. Its size is comparable to the Bahamut, so it is large enough to store an entire city within it.
Lady Ashe... I am sorry. I know how hard you have worked for peace in Ivalice. But this is only a minor setback.

[A overwhelming sense of defeat overcame Ashe in an instant. If Ivalice was truly destroyed...all the innocent lives in Rabanastre...no, even a greater number than that... Was she expected to just dismiss them?]
[No, she won't accept that. There has to be something more.]
How long must we remain in this place?

Oh!

Yes? Is there something you know?
[Coming off a bit rash, but Rikku hadn't contacted her for no reason, right?]

Yes! I mean, no, not something. But I do know someone! Ok, two someones but only one of them matters right this very second. I don't know if he's already seen this, but I said I'd be looking. Basche! That is. You are Lady Ashelia, right?
[Normally Rikku's more aware of how formal she should be when speaking to people of obviously higher standing. But in this case, she felt it just needed to come out, even if the delivery was fumbled through.]

[But why would he give her full name?]
I am the Lady Ashe. My apologies, I was unaware that Basch had spoken of me to someone else.
['Lady Ashelia.' It was an ill-suited address that Ashe had to correct.]

Yet another who hails from Ivalice. It is a small wonder so many survived.

[Something new about the functions of this device. Let Ashe try her hand at this...]
Some survivors is a great deal better than none at all.
[But how many are Dalmascan. Did any of her people survive?]

We are agreed on this. My heart is gladdened when others arrive, friend and foe alike.

[So long as those surviving don't include Vayne, Cid, or anyone else whose tried to kill her, Ashe should be fine.]
[Is she in for a treat later.]
