FANG 02 ❀❧ 『you get mistaken for strangers by your own friends when you pass them at night』

Jun 25, 2011 19:59

〖VOICE〗

A cow gave birth to a fire; she wanted to lick it, but it burned; she wanted to leave it, but she could not because it was her own child.

You won't even remember, will you.

[ You'd think the poor cow would have other problems after giving birth to something that burns. ]

Poetry now?

Proverbs. I'm rather fond of them.

What is it supposed to mean?

They are open for interpretation. You're supposed to tell me what you see.

An idiot with too much time on his hands?

The latter is definitely so. It reminds me of another proverb, in fact.

Idle hands do the devil's work.

So find something to do instead of wasting time.

That's the point. When bored, one tends to conjure up evil.

I don't-- [ oh wait hold on. ] --are you telling me you're wasting time on purpose?

[ ouch that burns. ]

That's stupid. Just because a proverb says something it doesn't mean it's true. Idleness produces nothing at all.

You place no value on entertainment, do you? Why pull strings to make puppets dance when a few bitter words can do it for you?

You're right, I don't. I place no value in things that aren't useful. Entertainment isn't, and it's a waste of precious time.

I wonder what time has taken from you to make you say such a thing.

Time isn't a person. It's a thing. It doesn't take or give anything. It's how people move through time that changes the future.

Time isn't a thing, for it is not tangible. Futures cannot be changed without will, and "people" inherently lack that.
