Run #2: Text

Religion.

What do you think of it?

And where does anyone find a quiet place to rest in this chaos? I have yet to get a moment of peace.

[ooc; Friendly reminder: PERMISSIONS are important for this character! Thanks!

In my own experience, religion is rarely anything more than organized superstition directed at those incapable of creating meaning for their own lives.

The library is typically well-policed, and possesses study rooms for additional privacy. I have been doing what little I can to contribute to that effort this month.

Incapable of creating meaning. To a point, I agree.

I had no idea there was a library. I will have to find it.

My best friend's a shrine maiden. I'm... vaguely Shinto. Vaguely. I don't think much about it, but I've met gods. And it kinda works.

And the planet we're at is pretty peaceful, ze.

You have met gods?

I was not going to venture from the ship. What am I missing?

Yup! I've met six maybe seven goddesses.

Down on the planet there's all sorts of really cool wildlife - dragons and sprites and pixies... There's also pretty sunsets and a lot of thrill-style sports. It's just fun and relaxing.

...I'm not certain this planet is to my tastes. I've had enough adventure recently.

Yep. Saves harassing the unwashed masses.

In what way?

Mortals will always attempt to explain away their problems. They blame the gods, blame developments in science, or magic. The simple truth is that they aren't in control of their own destinies. I question weather anyone truly is.

Some humans cannot stand the thought of being held accountable for their actions, even in the eyes of God.

I'm not religious myself, but it seems kind of nice.

It brings peace to many people.

There's been a lot of wars because of it, too, but I still can't think too badly of it.

Many wars; men like to ascribe their ills and their better points to a higher power.
