I got a full night's sleep last night. No nightmares, no lying awake until three and waking up at four, just... a peaceful night's sleep.

I think something's wrong with me.

Why'd you think that?

It's a Bible passage. "There is no peace, saith the LORD, unto the wicked."

...No wonder why I never heard it.

You know, letting something like that bother you will certainly make for a few restless nights.

Understandable. Good read, but it's not for everyone.

Considering what I've done, it's the least I deserve.

Wrong country too. Bibles aren't exactly thick in China.

Why? Killed a couple hundred men or something?

I don't know how common they are, but they're plenty thick wherever you go.

Their names were Eva Lancaster and Rekka Saionji. They were in my high school class. People I interacted with every day. I still see their faces every night, whenever I close my eyes. What was left of it, in Rekka's case. So yeah, there's that.

I meant not common.

Tough break that. Sometimes you can't help who gets caught up in everything no matter what you do to keep them away.

I know. It was a joke, bro.

I didn't exactly explore other options, and yet that statement still manages to be remarkably apt for unrelated reasons.

Some days I think this fish doesn't like translating jokes.

Yeah? Well, there are times when you can't explore any different options.

There's always an alternative to killing. Always.

If you think that then you never been in that kind of fight.

But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. Matthew 5:39.
