Alright, I'm on my way now. I'll be at the spot where we had the party.
[That's kind of a lie. The angle doesn't make it clear, but he's already there, sitting on a park bench. The feed clicks off, and he takes a deep breath.]
[Indeed, the one he knows and loves. His smile turns a little more wry, the tone of his voice slightly, but noticeably, more serious.]
So... I think I've come to terms with this. I've figured out where I'd like us to stand when all is said and done, but what's most important to me is that you're happy. That in mind, I'd like to know what you think about... well, us, before I say anything about that.
[Chie doesn't mind the quick turn for the serious at all. Doesn't stop her from fiddling with her sleeves, though. This sort of thing makes her incredibly nervous. She is quiet for a minute or so, though, still trying to say... exactly what she wants to say, rather than something muddled like she so often does.]
Y'know... I've kinda already liked you for a long while. But I just-- I dunno.
[She looks down at her hands and gets them to stop fidgeting for a little. Just a little.]
It kinda feels like I'm doing something wrong, seeing as Lavi's only been gone a month. I never really thought it'd go anywhere, or even last as long as it did, but still.
[Sighing, she solves her restless hand syndrome by stretching her arms forwards a bit.]
It kinda feels like giving up, y'know? And well. You know how stubborn I can get.
[Her happiness being paramount, he'd let her go first so that, whatever her answer, he could tell her he was thinking the same thing. The answer he got, however, was a little more complex than that. Internally, he chastised himself for expecting otherwise.
The first part honestly surprised him. They had chemistry, he thought, but he had always figured he was locked into the friend zone regardless of his thoughts on pursuing anything. The catch that followed, of course, he mostly saw coming.]...I guess "understand" would be the wrong word for it, since I can't really relate, but I think I kind of get what you mean. And I do know how stubborn you can get; that's one of the things I like about you. Knowing a thing or two about moving on, though, I can say that it's not necessarily the same as giving up. I know this is cliche as hell, but he'd want you to be happy, right? Whatever you decide, base your choice on that premise. If you're happier holding onto your memories of Lavi, waiting for him to come back, then that's a decision I
( ... )
[He still can't even believe that's a thing, but that's not important right now. What is is that he takes a deep breath, gently placing a hand on her shoulder. He was past the point of no return, but he was as sure about this as he'd ever been about anything.]
I hope this makes it easier, then.
[He used his hand to carefully guide her toward him, and when she was close, placed his lips to hers.]
Yeah, I think-- I'm good to talk about it. I dunno if video's the best way though, y'know? Wanna meet up somewhere?

Don't screw this up, Souji.

[It takes a good ten minutes for Chie to finally--finally gawd this job makes her wanna cry-- finish up and head over there.]
[Is it weird to see Chie in business attire? Because she feels weird wearing it, even if it is the plainest she can get away with.]
Hey! Wait long?

[You know, actually...]
You look great today, by the way.

[Chie smiles, and blushes a little. Good signs, right?]
It's for my job this month.

[He smiles back, motioning to the otherwise empty bench.]
Plenty of sitting room, if you'd like.

[Chie grins and sits, nearly flops really, very much the good ol' kung-fu girl he knows.]
Don't mind if I do!

[Man, this is so confusing again.]
I don't wanna get stuck in the past or anything, I just... it feels weird, I guess.
[She can't help but blush at the last bit, though she doesn't really have a concrete response yet.]
