-The feed clicks on to show a rather harried looking Renko, adjusting her had and trying to get a series objects set up in what we can only assume is a needed and particular order. She seems to be reciting numbers and calculations to herself as she does so, quickly taking down notes. Anyways, once she's seemingly ready, she smooths out her dress and adresses the audience.-
Okay, so, obviously you've all heard about wormholes sucking people up around here, but I seem to have discovered that a frightning number of you have no idea WHAT a wormhole is. So I'm here to do my best to explain. Anyways... -deep breath.-
In physics, a wormhole is a hypothetical topological (which is the mathematical concept of continuous deformation, aka STRETCHING, for those further not in the know) feature of spacetime that would be, essentially, a "shortcut" through spacetime. For a simple visual explanation of a wormhole, please look at this picture here. -She points at one of her objects, a kind of double cone looking thing-
If this surface is folded along a third dimension, it allows one to picture a wormhole "tunnel" or "bridge" between planes. Though I should note that they don't actually look like this. In fact, they don't look like anything. You see, because we can only percieve in three dimensions, and wormholes themselves are structures that exist across four or more dimensions. I mean, what you see here as 2D mouth could appear more like a 3D sphere in actual space time. A-anyways...
A wormhole is, in theory and I STRESS that, much like a tunne or bridgel with two ends each in separate points in spacetime. Which, I should note, that spacetime is ALL of existence. All worlds, all times, all universes, all anything. It's the big IT.
Now, before I go further, I have to ask how many of you know what relativity is... -The video feed seems to cut itself before any of the rest of you are bored to death by this Carl Sagan wannabe-
