Through no fault of his own, really, the alien spied Ventus take a bar and disappear behind a shelf, and leaped to the OBVIOUS conclusion - Ventus was stealing.
Which is how Ventus came to be speeding down the halls, dressed in typical 50s wear for a kid his age - collared shirt, jeans with a belt, sneakers. Yeah, he was you regular good 50s kid - or he might have been if not for the glider beneath his feet careening him around corners and halls with amazing speed. He had his Guide on, making his statement before he was caught - if. But he wanted everyone to know this!]
