[Video feed begins. Kiriko is dressed not in his usual fancy suit, but in very lightweight armour over top a comfortable, military-like uniform. Cuts and scrapes freckle the armour and his gloves as well as a medium, holstered black gun. He is currently aboard the SS Sigrun. There are dark rings beneath his eye - he is clearly exhausted. But he doesn't seem to care much as he begins his message.]
Citizens of the Thor.
Last week, a child by the name of Judas nearly died in a crew-based salvage mission after being attacked by a hostile predator. I happened to come across him only after the rest of his crew had already been killed - he was the only survivor of the entire team. He was admitted into the hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries. He is currently recovering from massive blood loss as well as numerous lacerations to the chest. This boy is seventeen years old.
[While he is by no means an altruist, this topic is important to him. He continues with absolute confidence in himself, despite his age.]
...For those of you that do not know of me, my name is Dr. Kiriko. Eighteen years ago, I served as a volunteer combat medic and military surgeon during a violent war. This month aboard the SS Sigrun, I have a similar job: keeping those aboard alive and preventing as many unnecessary deaths as possible.
I am what they have been calling a "Living diversion," and this month I am volunteering my help as an ex-soldier to any who may require it. Should you need my assistance during your next visit, do not hesitate to contact me. I will not demand payment for this service, though I will expect a minimum wage from those who can afford it. All that I ask is that you inform me of your plans aboard, and I will accompany you.
[He pauses to allow his words to sink in, before continuing on gravely:]
And, most importantly...
I have noticed an alarming increase of children venturing aboard. If you are under the age of 20 and have chosen to take part in the salvage of the S.S. Sigrun, I strongly urge you to reconsider. Take this not as advice from a condescending elder - but from one who has already fought through a similar experience at that age and did not escape unchanged.
I have compiled a list of some officially signed up whom I have deemed too young and therefore unfit for this mission - if you find your name, please speak with me at your earliest convenience. [By which he means now.]
Minako Arisato
Lien Kha
Kamui
Seto
Karen Minazuki
[And there's a space where he had put Polly's name down, but deleted it the last second before he posted it.]
[He pauses, unsure of how to continue after all that. He looks a bit nervous. Without much else to say, he simply nods awkwardly at the Guide and reaches to turn the video feed off.]
...Thank you.
[[ooc: There Kiriko goes again, doing his usual condescending talk. If you're on the list and you want to ignore the nosey old man, feel free. Action is fine if you'd prefer!]]
