Now, I'm no stranger to paperwork, but somehow I didn't realize the process of transferring schools would be this complicated. I think I had to give a blood sample. I'm not certain what they're going to do with that sample. I'm not certain I WANT to know. I'm going to pretend it's for research. It's comforting that way.
So this is it. This is the real thing. The real Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. And all it is is pretty much a smart phone with a Facebook app and Wikipedia. I am somehow both flabbergasted and remarkably underwhelmed at the same time. Like discovering the laws of gravity only to realize I now have a sizable bruise on my head that will now make memory retention difficult. Profound, really. My professors would be jealous.
But I guess they're dead.

I'm still not convinced this isn't some starved dream. I really haven't eaten well lately. And I'll probably offer up the rest of my student meals to anyone that can assure me this isn't real. Because that would be nice. I'm not certain I'm ready to go to school in space.
Oh, and I'm looking for someone named Maribel Hearn. Thank you.
