I- I think you did very well, John. It's a very good letter. [...Does he want to ask about the planet thing? Maybe not now.]

[After a long hesitation, he filters to private and frowns seriously.]

But Sherlock really shouldn't nit-pick at it so badly. You'd asked for a change from math and chemistry questions, but he still gave you math...

[Righteous indignation, he has it. Never mind it's weak way late.]

Ah, I didn't realize anyone had followed that discussion. [John just shrugs.] It's all right. Once he pointed out the pattern it was obvious. I should have been able to figure it out.

[*blush* Yah, he wanted to see how his friend was doing against Sherlock's challenge, and it just built from there...]

Anything is obvious once you have the answer. It was really hard.
[No, he hadn't lost sleep trying to figure it out. Really.]
But, if you say it's all right...

It's Sherlock. That's just how he is. [It's meant to sound resigned, but it's said with a smile.]

And it was worth the risk for the slim chance at making him clean the room.

[And so Canada returns the smile.]

It was so bold of you! All the same, I hope a way with less risk ends up being the most effective...

Well, to be honest, his idea of "tidying the room" probably would have involved hiding my things, or putting them in the freezer, or something equally annoying.

How are you getting along with your roommates? I'm not even sure who is in your rooms other than Holmes.

[He can't help but wince at the idea of that. Could it be the same for him too - that bearing with Holmes' mess was the lesser trouble? Not that he minded cleaning, really, but it was only fair to share chores, right?]

Oh, sorry. I'm afraid I don't see much of them. Guilmon arrived at about the same time as me. He's... a red d-dinosaur, but quite kind. I think he has friends from his world here - he seems to be out a lot.

The other is Genjyo Sanzo. I- really don't know much about him. He seems kinda strict, but nice enough... [But honestly, he'd seemed kinda scary in his last network post.]

... Did you really just say he's a dinosaur?

[Yah, he can't believe he said it either.]

Yes, I'm afraid so. A talking dinosaur who likes peanut butter. ...Unbelievable, eh?

That's amazing. You know, Sherlock and I were joking once about having a dragon show up on board. I think a dinosaur counts.

Were you? Well, I suppose they're pretty similar!

Oh, by the way, I met your brother, America.

He's a bit...odd.

That's... [actually very kind of you John. America is very odd.]

I'm sorry. I hope he didn't cause you any trouble.

Oh no, no trouble. It's just...he seems to think you don't talk?

. . . Um, I can see how he'd say that.

Why do you think that?
