Sooooo Genji was out wandering in the woods one day when he randomly met a little girl who apparently reminded him so much of his mother, he immediately adopted her to raise into the perfect wife.

In the case of a good husband, it was very beneficial for the future wife, she would get to know her husband, and they would have a good and understanding relationship.

Well...I guess it's mostly a cultural thing, but where I'm from, husbands and wives are supposed to be equal partners. One isn't supposed to be submissive to the other.

In an ideal world that should be true. But during that era men where the ones in charge, and women were at the mercy of the men in their lives.
