I was going to update with my feelings about WoW: Mists of Pandaria, but now I am not going to. The brief version, though, is that I am extremely leery of many aspects, but quite like the sound of monks (always have - looking at you, Sabin), and could spend many an excited minute wringing my hands over talent choices. Hrm hrm...
Instead, here are some facts about Kristopher! Because
cruxis had to leave so I have no where else to vent things most recently realised. And well, might as well go ahead and make it into a post, right? RIGHT?! i'm cool shut up
Kristopher! is;
• ... really good at what he does. What he does, incidentally, is metal. Metal manipulation. He doesn't remember a time before the talent was recognised, and he's been playing with it ever since. Playing probably is the best word choice there. He crafts little things, then recrafts, then sets it back to howvever it began, and I don't know that he really has artistic flair so much as a keen eye for things around him, but he could easily just make some vapid simple career of jewellery and such. That being said!
• ... pretending to be less aware than he is, & I think some part of that is not wanting to be involved in the war. I think that, with a talent like his, he could have very real merit on the warfront (and he's probably lucky to have been born defensive rather than offensive). He isn't stupid and doesn't pretend to be, but he does play to being panicked and easily overwhelmed, a follower not a leader, very friendly and very much not a threat. He plays his little metal games, but nothing more than idle habit sees public light. Whatever further limits he's explored, that's all been behind closed doors. (And since that sentence does vaguely imply such, do feel free to go into the gutter a little with your wonderings. I'M JUST SAYING, teenagers explore what's available to them, adults keep the lessons they learned...........)
• ... sort of bitter about how he's perceived, HAHAHA. Wonderful, another one of these, hahaha. It's not a virulent sort of dislike, though, nor anything so self-righteous as Griffith or just plain damaged and lonely as Quinn. He just finds it unpleasant how easily people are taken in by his... acting? He wouldn't even identify it that way, I don't think he considers himself a liar or even particularly dishonest (this disparity will be reflected again shortly). But he plays up being nervous and somewhat ditzy, and then privately sighs at people who write him off because of it. And then he's friendly with them, and does nothing to correct them. Kristopher is friendly with everyone, friends with... very few.
• ... genuinely somewhat ditzy, hahaha. Not terribly so, but it's more that he exaggerates his "bad" traits. Truth of the matter is, he does like to follow (he is actually quite... enthusiastically passive, if you'll excuse such a phrasing (and if you're still in the gutter, feel free to take that one with you as well)), he appreciates having another presence to take command of a situation. He doesn't like being the bottom rung, but he doesn't really want to ascend either. He wants a comfortable life (and at the moment, he rather thinks he's found it).
• ... (with apologies...) ... with one steady partner, but is sleeping around elsewhere. I did not realise this until today, and I was a bit disappointed to be honest. This comes back to his status as honest; he isn't at all upfront about this. If queried, he would absolutely dodge the issue. He doesn't really want anyone knowing about anyone else; he has his favourite, he has occasional others for days he can't reach his favourite or days he just doesn't care to - no one involved needs to know the details. If he were directly asked, I think he'd deny it. I'm really not sure what to make of this bad behaviour...
• ... very fond of that steady partner, as it goes. Which all together leads to...
• ... very prone to his habits. It takes quite a lot to snap him out of a pattern of behaviour once he's taken it in, to the point where I really don't think he needs/is especially glad of his current... uhh sexual lifestyle? we'll just say. He won't challenge his own behaviour, won't really think of it that way, but if he did I believe he'd actually find himself at a point where he could settle into something like a 'relationship'. That he's so unthinkingly dismissive right now, combined with all else, really makes me wonder how he became someone so set on keeping the world at arms length. (I have mentioned before that he's the sort not to give an 'I love you' until the other says so, and then (wow, way to not finish the sentence self)-- and then he'd roll with it without giving any particular thought or definition to the words. Just follows the lead, keeps his own feelings quite to himself.)
• ... all in all, not a particularly bad or particularly good person. He's the most I've ever had to think about the sort of person behind 'friendly', hahaha. I might have said more, but I should probably have gone to sleep quite a while ago.
It is raining here, at the moment. There are floodsss. Not floods here, but in the general area. If last year is any indication, I might reach work tomorrow to find rain has come through the fire exit or the hole in the bathroom floor lol they will never fix this and it is so illegal.
