Today I watched in horror as BoyC, sitting at his work computer (Phenom II X6 + GeForce GTX 560 + 8GB RAM) looked through the Flashback releases on Pouet, then proceeded to watch some of them. Through YouTube. In 360p.
Here we have someone who spent a considerable amount of his spare time creating some of the best realtime demonstrations we've been lucky to see, sitting at a computer that is able to deliver pretty much any demo with full HD framerate in crystal clear quality, and yet he chooses to watch the shittiest quality video version. What the fuck?
Did we really escalate into the level of Facebook-mediocrity where one download and one executable start is so far out of our convenience zone that we sacrifice the actual point of a product just so we can Wadsworth the fucking thing and make sure we don't spend more than 10 seconds on it?
If the scene has sank to the level of mindless consumption (and considering how the hangaround-to-producer ratio hasn't been this tipped), and it's okay with it, then it deserves to fucking die.
