i'd say this weekend turned out to be one of the best i've had in a long time, you know, besides camping last weekend of course. thursday night i took the train up to meet ryan in nyc, since he was driving down to my place the following day. unfortunately, i misread the train schedule and got there much later than i wanted to, missing a chance to see
jennifer06820 in the process. i also discovered that i rather enjoy the city at night. it's far less obnoxious and crowded, but still is awake enough that you can find something to do or somewhere to eat.
we crashed in ryan's ghetto hotel room for the night and then headed out around noonish. most of friday was spent relaxing and doing not much of anything. eli arrived around 8 in the evening, and zach, phil, and rachel joined us for dinner at pj whelihan's, a decent sports bar down the road from me.
saturday night was quite a bit of fun as well. we headed into philly for dinner at the smoked joint, a place specializing in barbecue, ribs, and the like. quite tasty. we then headed over to the planetarium at the franklin institute for a showing of
sonicvision. turned out to be one of the coolest things i've seen in a while. good music and really trippy visualizations. i'd recommend seeing it if it's at a science museum near you. unfortunately, the planetarium decided to furnish themselves with straightback chairs, so my neck still hurts from the show.
on the way out of our parking garage, we saw this:
yes, i believe that is the gucci symbol detailed all over the escalade. some people gotta have it all.
eli left early afternoon today and ryan just left about an hour ago, after we saw
murderball, which we both really enjoyed.
goodbyes definitely suck.
