yeah, yeah
christmas was surprisingly good this year. highlights include:
adaptation and the pixies' doolittle purchased with a gift certificate to barnes & nobles' a copy of mary poppins on dvd numerous articles of clothing that either didn't fit me or i wouldn't wear in the first place. these were from relatives that i didn't get gifts for, so i'd feel bad asking for receipts to take them back. gaining about 7 pounds or so over the past week. i'm not one for new years resolutions, but i may have to do something about this excess poundage.
it's been really fun having the brother and his wife staying with me all this week, and we've managed to keep hostile encounters with the parents to a minimum. i have to say that this is one of the smoothest holidays we've had in a while. (for those that don't know me very well, my family tends on the side of pointless arguments and emotional breakdowns whenever we all gather on holidays and the like.) off to bed now.
