The weekend that was
Pirates
Well I did dress like a pirate and off to town I went into the local Goth / Rock pub The Marquee. A quick look around confirmed I was the only one dressed as pirate unless you counted skull & crossbones a head scarf as minimum pirate kit. Well a few JD’s later people I was expecting to arrive had not, so I had a few more JD’s and went to the club, a few had made the effort and not long after I arrived the people I had been waiting for at the pub arrived running a little late but in pirate kit. A few more JDs some dancing to some happy hardcore upstairs which was laugh I really needed a good dance. The music was not the best but danceable, club finished at 2ish and off home I went. My feet were hurting but then again I had been dancing like a loon in large red boots. Crashed on the couch for bit watched a little of footy reply and took my boots off realising I had three large blisters on foot. Went to bed a little later then I should have done but to bed I went.
The wedding
Some friends of Jo and I were getting married in Norwich, I had managed to purchase everything I needed the day before except the panama hat and a new pair of shades. I thought I would have time to resolve these last few purchases in the morning. I rushed into Town (ok I walked very slowly into town due to blisters) found shades, special blister pack stuff that acts like a second skin. Rushed back home as I though I was running later then I was forgetting to get myself a hat. Tried the plasters found I could wear the new shoes, which meant I could wear the nice new beige linen suit as black shoes would just not have worked. It is all about the right shoes (I know a few people will agree). The wedding was nice not quite what Jo & I would like. Jo looked great in nice red summer dress and cute sparkly shoes. The bride had on a nice bodice and straight slim ankle length skirt number, elegant and simple. The groom the tradition suit, waistcoat cravat number smart but looked very warm. I was a little delicate and subdued having gone out the night before, I did try not to have it to large but, I was a lot sore and a little tired having danced a little to much. I must admit I was a little out of favour with Jo as she had wanted me to dance with her at the wedding but I was not really up for it. I kicked of my shoes and danced the last dance. It was all over by 11:30pm It had started at 1pm with a break from 4:15- 7:00 for the footy. (Yeah we lost, we could have done better we did not enough said). A few after party drinks at a friends and home soon beckoned.
Sunday
This was a lazy day, I tidied up a bit, watched the G-Prix which was not as fun as the Moto G-Prix watched Valentino Rossi carve his way though the field. Jo cleared the garden a little and went to rehearsal for her forthcoming show the Singing the Postman (more details to follow). It was Jo’s turn to ache from her dancing at the wedding. Curled up together on the couch and watched the BBC2 evening movie The Rookie, a heart warming true story about never giving up the dream that was ok..
