Roleplaying.. well running a RPG
So I have decided to run a game again. Well try to run a campaign instead of the one offs I am used to. This comes after much listening to Isaac and well staring at all this material I have collected over the years that is collecting dust. I figure I am going to go ahead and get my thoughts out about the whats and whosits. This will show in Facebook so those that are interested can see.
I am looking for about 5 - 8 players. The general dynamic of the group has to generally mesh and they are going to have to be patient with me as I get my feet back under me. I am not going to be extremely picky about who plays but will be a bit selective. I am looking at playing on Tues or Weds once or twice a month. Things are leaning towards Tues at twice a month, mostly due to interest and most of us haven't played in so long. Will probably stay at twice a month with the occasional break.
Running Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 2nd Edition rules with in the Greyhawk campaign world. I have a decent collection of 1st edition stuff so this lends to a lot of source material for Greyhawk. Most of the people that were initially interested haven't played most of the 1st edition modules and adventures so this will be new ground for them.
The characters will all start at 1st level. I will be allowing the various racial and class kits, I just need to see it and approve it so it fits the world. I am looking at incorporating some of the Player Options books into things. I do like some of the magic stuff they have introduced. I will spell it out during character creation and have print outs of how the system works.
Since the world of Greyhawk is not well known to most of the players, I will have all the source material I have for the world.
I do have digital copies of all the 2nd edition books as well as a few hardbacks. I will be compiling a few cheatsheets to make things a touch easier. Digital copies don't make things easy to flip through but they will be on hand for all to view.
So, this is just a general idea. Of course I will sum this all up in a nifty list in a moment. I am getting excited about this and have a few things I would like to run. Need to get a few details worked out and some side things built.
