Ever regret something that you said? Mostly because it came out completely wrong than how you wanted to say it in your head? That you tried speaking your mind and your tongue or your typing got in the way? Verbal dissonance. It's no longer about apologizing. It's not about defending oneself. It's figuring out how to say it the right way. Because you're not sorry for what was said, you just regret wording it the wrong way. Not taking the proper amount of time to express yourself. I'm not a great debator - mostly because I go off feelings not facts. And I have this annoying tendency to hold grudges. Mostly because I don't acknowledge that I've been hurt or insulted when it happens. So it festers, getting worse as time goes on. Like an infected tooth. It really should have had a root canal about a year ago, but for whatever reason it didn't happen and now it's so far gone that the only option is to have it removed. Now that that analogy is out of the way, what is it that I have to get removed? The stick up my ass? Possibly. Whatever it is that has to be removed, I have to take some sort of "antibiotic": before it's extracted. Otherwise taking it out won't do any good if the infection is still there.
