I'm sure it has NOTHING to do with the avalanche of scandals that have swamped the Roman Catholic Church in recent years - culminating not with the cover-up of sexual abuse of children but with money-laundering by the Vatican.
Yep, you can protect rapists and child molesters all day long, for centuries (and yet, oddly enough, still act as if you're the moral high ground on sexual matters such as gay marriage and birth control) - but if you touch our untaxed billions you're dead meat, paisan.
I knew there was a reason I left these guys decades ago. As a woman with a brain and an ounce of self-respect, I found there was just no room for me any more.
