"One day, Lij, that's all I ask. So many of Mom's friends have died of lung cancer. One day. I know you can do it."

The American Cancer Society has designated the third Thursday in November as the Great American Smokeout -- a day in which smokers are encouraged to give up the leaf for 24 hours, just to see if they can. Many quitters have used this day as their starting point.
As I said, the above is just a silly drabble. But I do wish the dear lad would put those nails down.
