It's supposed to be an icon-hug. (This is why I don't speak icon.)

Yarr.Just.Yarr.

I'm usually wary of Sherlock Holmes AUs but I cannot resist a good pirate yarn. This was great! Poor Dr Jack, but a worse fate awaits the Admiral!

PS. September 19th is International Speake Like a Pirate Day

Me, I'm a sucker for a really good AU, and this one is delightful! You do a fantastic job bringing these characters to life. This entry was not for the faint of heart, but you've done another amazing job.

Thank you so much. Since it combines two of my passions (Sherlock Holmes and pirates), it's hard to miss!

This. Is. Incredible. Steampunk it might be but for me it's totally believable. Plus the voices! -- I dunno, somehow they're still Holmes and Watson but at the same time convincingly 17th century pirates. And the idea of Mycroft as an admiral is genius.

Do you mind terribly if I borrow this world for part of the amnesty prompt? (I'm thinking of a dream or a past life experience, and I promise to put everything back the way I found it.)

Oh boy, I can't think of hardly anything more terrifying than having grievous injury on a ship in the 1700s. Its a good thing they had 'accidentally' discovered the good points to using alcohol for sterilization. Yeah, okay, I was fascinated by the whole surgery bit. I'm morbid that way. Details make my day and this bizarre form of hurt/comfort between Dr. Jack and Shear-Lock is some ind of wonderful added bonus.

Tender, yet practical h/c in this case. And I can easily see a doctor being fascinated by his own amputation!

And I'm only tweaking history a little - Revolutionary War surgeons used to use whiskey just as a rough anesthetic for their patients, but one doctor accidentially spilled it into the wound and it didn't fester like so many others did.
