I've literally lost count of how many times I've seen WaC. It's funny, yet has the core of truth about Sherlock Holmes and his creator. And a very nice Holmes & Watson pairing in Michael Caine and Ben Kingsley

"Ah, well-played!"

(just watched the movie for the second time a few days ago)

A charming missing scene vignette...and the first SH fanfic I have seen based on this marvelous film!

I've also seen a vid to the Beatles' "We Can Work It Out."

Your second? I saw it several times in the theater in 1988 and I've lost track of how many times since then. Such a great cast - and any SH film in which Mrs Hudson and Wiggins are both in on the denouement is not to be missed!

YAY!!! Without A Clue fic!!!! Very well done, you've really captured the dual nature of both characters here.

Much appreciated! The film is funny but it captures the truth about Sherlock Holmes, his creation, and the nature of fictional characters to take on a life of their own.

I've been meaning to see this movie, but haven't managed to get around to it. Your fic just bumped it up the list. ;-) Fun!

It's one of my favorite film versions of SH. It's funny, and goofy at times, but it has the ring of truth about how fictional characters can overtake their creators (and sometimes their portrayers). And there's a great pairing in Michael Caine and Ben Kingsley. The Victorian details are lovely too. Henry Mancini did the music - one of his last films.
