This weekend was our Martlet Retreat. It was soooo much fun. We headed out to this camp on some lake somwhere lol. The first day it was raining and we played ulitmate frisbee and dodgeball lol....one of the balls went in the lake, so Val was a good sport and proceeded to take off her pants to go in and get it lol. Did i mention we weren't the only ones at this camp!?!? lol it was great. So we went and ate and did some bonding stuff, then we had a break before dinner so us rookies went to work on our skit. It took us soo long to get it right. After dinner it was time for our performance. Our idea was the tv show "McGill Martlets Got Talent" and peter and amy, our coaches, were the judeges. Cech was peter and Charlie was amy and they were perfect. Cech just sat there and used peter's quotes and cleared her throat alot while Charlie just sat there with her arms crossed and whenever Cech asked her if she had anything to say she'd reply "no". The rest of us were the Mackstreet Martlets lol and we were gansters. We all had gangsta names like chiniqua and stuff...i was LaFonda lol except for Cath Ward, who was Cath Ward lol she also didn't dress gangsta, she wore leggings, a full piece swimsuit, belt, sunglasses and a giant blue marge simpson wig lmao. She definitely stole the show, trying to talk gangsta with her major french accent. We had an interview session that was quite funny before we broke into our performance....What was our performance??... well the Mackstreet Martlets did a rousing randition of I Want It That Way, complete with our own lyrics lol It was hilarious. After our performance we all sat around the "campfire" and Gabby played songs and we sang along. By campfire i mean box withe a drawing and the word fire inside lol it was too wet to have a real one. We watched a movie that night and then a bunch of people went to bed. But our room, consisting of me, zane, gabby, charlie, cath, vinny, kate, and amy, were way to wired off of a sugar rush to actually sleep. So shauna came in our room to hang with us and we plugged in my ipod, and cranked up the country tunes. Kate is from Calgary, so she was teaching us all to line dance, when Brit walks in our door, visibly mad, wearing only a t-shirt and underwear lol and tells us that apparently we are shaking the entire cabin with our dancing. We didn't believe her so we kept on going when she left until about 5 more people came and yelled at us. After a night of no sleep thanks to Amy's constant coughing, we woke up and had some more fun activites. We had a scavenger hunt, my team didn't win, but we got the most important piece of the hunt....Cath's blue wig!! lol stole it before she got there!! We did some more bonding, played never have i ever, and did some skits, in which me and charlie got to sit and eat chips lol that was a great skit. Then sadly we all had to leave and header home, but it was a great weekend. I got to know so many people this weekend, especially the rookies cause i spent so much time practicing with them. It was awesome, I can't wait for the rest of the season!! Here's a few pics i took before my camera died on me :( lol
