So the last two days have been a success overall I'd say. All my stuff for the internship is turned in and as of this afternoon it was on my schedule for academic schedule. So there's a weight off my shoulders. The vast majority of my classes are cool. Awesome, in fact. Except for Stat, which is really really freaking early, with a grad student from an as yet undetermined foreign country, and I can't always quite understand what the hell he's saying. (Why oh why did I have to screw up the AP exam and get a 3?) So it's like I'm almost tempted to try and find another section but it's like, well, it'd still be math, and would probably still be taught by a non-native-english speaking grad student.
In any event, I'm alot less freaked out than I was two days ago, largely because I was successful in getting the necessary paperwork filed to get credit for my internship, and survived the first two days of classes plus a committee meeting in congress.
The latter was interesting because it was basically an entire meeting dedicated to the changes in the printing policy which everyone's pissed over, because it used to be that the whole point of going to the computer labs was so you could print stuff for free, and now it's five cents a page because they ran up an $860,000 budget defecit last year. That's not even the real point though, because in the welcome back issue of the DTH (from this past tuesday) they reprinted an article from May that said that installing cardreaders was just a pilot program to see who was using more paper. Blah. Anyway...
So we have our mandatory congress retreat thing Saturday from 12-4. Woohoo! I'm working the close shift Friday night because I had no idea what my schedule was really going to look like for the weekend, basically I got the email about congress kinda late and I still haven't gotten an answer as to whether or not I'm going to have to be taking a field trip out to RDU at some point. So I know the weekend's coming, I just don't know just yet what exactly it will bring. I guess I look forward to finding out.
