So today, just like my last entry, I remembered that I have a Livejournal account. Reading back, so much has happened. Since my last entry, actually, shortly after my last entry, I quit Blockbuster and was immediately hired at Circuit City. At first, I was making 50 cents more an hour than I was as a manger at Blockbuster. I was selling movies, music, games, phones and mp3 players. Towards the end of summer (I was hired in middle of April) I was promoted to TVs. There, I quickly became one of the more recommended by customers, and had the highest volume. Now, though I made such an impact with movies and iPods, I still, from time to time, get pulled into there to help, so I'm still working on my TV skills. I did end up buying a Samsung 32 inch tv and won a 32 inch Panasonic at a vendor training. I gave the latter to my parents. Now, of 2007, the best moment was the time frame from the last part of July to the first part of August. On July 11th, I proposed to Colleen (successfully). How I did it was amazing. My parents and siblings were in Myrtle Beach for my sisters dance competition. We were in our PJs, had just eaten taco bell, and was just loading up on crap tv from Vh1. She decided that she wanted to go upstairs for a shower. I followed and said, "wanna dance". I then put on Shania Twain's You're Still The One and we had a very romantic slow dance. During the dance, we connected our eyes and kissed in ways that can only be described as Academy Award winning romance movie. After the song, I spun her around (she was going to go shower), pulled the ring box out of my pajama pocket, opened it up and said, "colleen, will you marry me?". She started balling like a baby (as was I) and said "yes". It was cool. She didn't get to that shower for a few hours as we had to call everyone we knew. Minus two people, all reactions were good. (John started talking about his girlfriend and Matt just said Congrats). Now, quick story about the ring. Literally, the night before I had decided that this was the perfect time to propose. I went to Kay Jewlers online, got a Kay credit card, and purchased the ring for next day delivery that came at 8am the next day. The ring itself was 2000, and is a half karat I do believe, with a white gold band and platinum prongs. The diamond is princess cut. It is simple and elegant. Then, a few weeks after proposing, with her parents, colleen and I went to Traverse City and Mackinaw. This was my first trip to Traverse City and I enjoyed it so much, I put it above all the other places I've gone (which are a lot). I don't want to go into too much detail because no one really reads this, heh, but let's just say that we're going back later this year. Mackinaw was nothing special, but was still cool to go to Enchanted Knights.
Other than that, 2007 was just your normal year. Colleen and I are laying the foundation of our future, I'm starting to get on track with money, as is she (though not nearly as bad off as I am). People are accepting us as an engaged couple (there was doubts because neither of us are through with college, have hourly jobs, and at the time of proposal, I was 20 and she was 19). Now I'm 21 and she's 20, and for some reason, once we hit those ages, people were more accepting. I tell them that love has no age, and that getting engaged young doesn't necessarily mean married right away. We won't get married until 2009/2010ish. Also, getting married young means having kids younger, so that way I'm not too old when they go to college and I can have fun again, hehe.
Well, the only other two notable things of 2007 was the Chris Benoit tragedy (which though it was a horrible thing, made me cry for 2 days straight) and me turning 21, which wasn't too much glitz and glamor because out of respect for Colleen being a year younger than I, I don't drink much. The times I do drink are when she's at home sleeping and I'm just having a relaxing mix drink.
Love y'all, comment if you read this, Peace
