Earlier today, Saturday, Colleen and I returned from our 3/4 of a week adventure to Mackinaw City, MI. The drive up was pretty hectic, took closer to 5 and a half hours, we had to take some back roads for a few miles due to typical Michigan construction. The way back was just over 4 hours, so that was a nicer drive. We didn't do much of the tourist stuff, just the carriage ride on Mackinac Island, which was so beautiful. One of the days, we drove up to Drummond Island (far right side of the upper pennisula), ask me about that and I will give you a great story about a Jeep, mud, and potholes larger than cars. Another day we went to Petosky and Harbor Springs, which is just an hour north of Traverse City. There, we just drove around and checked out some cool stuff like the Tunnel of Trees, which is a small road on the lakeside of Lake Michigan, and it's up on a hill, and it's just a tunnel of trees, so so so so so beautiful. The best part about the whole vacation, Colleen was the first thing I saw in the mornings, and the last thing I saw at nights. It was the greatest time of my life, it even beats Pearl Jam (given PJ was only 4 hours, this was 4 days).
