Sad Exercise Week

Jul 02, 2005 14:15

I only exercised on Tuesday and Friday this week (I took off on Monday, my usual skip day, and on Wednesday I woke up late and had plans in the afternoon with friends, Thursday was screwed up by my super early EKG appointment (still have to write about that drama)and then I waited for phone calls through the afternoon from various healthcare professionals, and Friday I planned to take a few walks, but Margaux got a bad headache behind the eyes and I can't leave the house without her and she was clingy after spending the night out on Wednesday night and me not picking her up till mid afternoon Thursday), and on Friday, it was only walking 1/2 mile.  So, I started doing the regular Disco Sweat today.  I got through the first high intensity interval and struggled to take my blood pressure... I just wanted to know my heart rate actually.  It was only 127, but I'm sure it slowed from the highest because I had to try it three different times because I was trying to take a shortcut and then make up for the shortcut that didn't work.  Guh... So, anyway... all totalled, I probably missed one minute from my peak heart rate (not to be confused with target heart rate for my age).  I started to do the next low intensity interval with Richard and got a twinge in my neck a few times.  Most likely, it's just tendon related and no big deal, but with all the reading I've been doing on EKGs and Cardiology in general, I got a little nervous and stopped working out.  I will just cool down and then finish the rest of the workout.  I read that exercise need not come in one straight shot and that it's fine to break up the workout through the day.  It makes sense to me to do this, but I always thought I'd just do differerent kinds of activities through the day... like first do my whole Richard Simmons, and then a few hours later do some recumbent biking, and later do some trampoline, and after that some walking for a longer stretch.  I didn't really want to break up my RS.  But, a few times in the past 2 months, something or someone has interrupted the workout for 5 to 10 minutes, occasionally longer.  When that has happened, I've noticed that I do have a lot more energy to finish the workout without fudging on any of the moves.  Maybe it is better for me to do this more regularly.

So, I stopped the tape, grabbed my water and went to find my cell phone.  Margaux charged it for me last night without me asking her to do it.  She said she noticed it only had one bar of power left.  She's so sweet.  I thought it would be good to have my phone with me.  I always take it when I walk.  Maybe I should get something to keep it on my person all the time.  Hmmm... It's a flip phone.  I wonder if there's a case in the garage for it.

Does anyone need a kyocera cell phone case?  Let me know.  I have about 100 of them, brand new.
