Well, the weird weather continues. It’s not the Day-Night temp swings, it’s the weekly ones that are annoying the hel out of me and “messing” with my Green Buddies. All the narcissi finished last month when normally they’d be in prime form NOW. Luckily, nothing Woody has broken Dormancy. Some of the bulbs have(Lilies, Tritonias, Watsonias, etc). i've found that onion seeds are only good for one, maybe two years. most other seeds i can keep for years and years, but not onions.

I better test germinate my Shimonita Negi Seeds then. I grew these rare Japanese leeks a few yrs ago and had saved the seeds every yr since, though I didn't grow them last yr....

looks like leek seeds keep a little longer than onion seeds do, 2 years compared to just 1 year. this website has a helpful list on approximately how many years seeds stay viable for, before dropping off in their germination rates.

It's certainly not been a normal Winter in most places. Last by now we'd have had a couple of weeks of below Freezing instead of a couple days and NONE in the upper 70'sF!
Because of this I'd planted out a lot of the Hardy Annuals after New Years instead of ....NOW. A 2nd harvest of Turnips is coming up though the flowers remain Dormant. Probably for the best.
